  • x + 2 is a factor of x^3 - 2ax^2+16=0

Find :-

  • Value of a

Explanation

We know, if (x + p) is a factor of this equation (ax² + bx + c = 0 ) .

Then, x = -p is satisfied of this equation .

For this, Equation

Keep x = -2 in this equation,

==> (-2)³ - 2a(-2)²+16=0

==> -8 - 8a + 16 = 0

==> -8a = -8
