Your Question needs a correction,

Correct question ; find the value of k

Solution,

Given that (x - 2) is the factor, by factor theorem,

x - 2 = 0
x = 2

Then,

x³ - 4x² + kx = 0

2³ - 4(2)² + k(2) = 0

8 - 4(4) + 2k = 0

8 - 16 + 2k = 0

-8 + 2k = 0

2k = 8

k =  \frac{8}{2}
k = 4

I hope this will help you

Hey friend, ☺️ here is your answer ____________________________

If x - 2 is a zero then it can makes the whole polynomial equals to zero.
So,
x - 2 = 0
x = 2

Putting this in the equation

 0 = {x}^{3}  - 4 {x}^{2}  + kx \\ 0 =  {2}^{3}  - 4  \times {2}^{2}  + k \times 2 \\ 0 = 8 - 16 + 2k \\  0=  - 8 + 2k \\ 8 = 2k \\ k = 4

Hope this helps you..
