x - 2y = 11 -----( 1 )
xy = 8 --------( 2 )
Do the cube of equation ( 1 ) , we get
( x - 2y ) ³ = x³ - ( 2y )³ - 3x(2y)[ x - 2y ]
( 11 ) ³ = x³ - 8y³ - 6 × 8 × 11
1331 = x³ - 8y³ - 528
1331 + 528 = x³ - 8y³
1859 = x³ - 8y³
Therefore ,
x³ - 8y³ = 1859
