2x+y = 5

From Comparing both side

x + 2y = -5 ------(1)

2x + y = 5 -------(2)

multiplying eq.(1) by 2

2x + 4y = -10 ------(3)

From eq.(2) - eq.(3)

-3y = 15

3y = -15

y = -5

Then ,

x = -5 - 2(-5)

x = -5 + 10

x = 5
