Then, 1/x = 1/(3 - 2√2 ) .

= 1/( 3 - 2√2 ) × ( 3 + 2√2 )/( 3 + 2√2 ) .

= ( 3 + 2√2 )/( 3² - (2√2)² ) .

= 3 + 2√2 .

Therefore, ( x - 1/x )³

= ( 3 - 2√2 - 3 - 2√2 ) ³ .

= ( -4√2 )³ .

= - 128√2 .
