if (x-3) is a factor of the polynomial (2×x×x+x+k),find k

Hey there!!
We have ,

p(x) = 2x^2+x+k

Given that , x-3 is its factor ,

therefore x =3

p(x) =0

=> 2 (3)^2 +3 + k =0

=> 2 ×9 +3 +k. = 0

=> 18 +3 + k. =0

=> k =- 21
