If (x – 3) is a factor of x2 – kx -+ 12. The find the value of ‘k’. Also find the other factor for this value of ‘k’.​

If x-3 is a factor, then take x-3=0 or x=3. Put this value of x in the above polynomial.

9-3k+12=0

3k=21

k=21/3=7

The polynomial becomes

x^2-7x+12

(x-3)(x-4)
