And x+y =4➖ 2
By solving 1 and 2 equation by substitution method
We get

y = x-2 ➖ 3..
Put y =x-2 in equation 2
We get.
x+x-2 =4
2x = 6
x =3
So
y = 3-2 =1
It is given that
a=x so a =3
And b=y so b=1
...the value of a is 3 and b is 1
