A intersection B is the set of all distinct elements or objects that are in both A and B.it is denoted by A\cap B. in figure, shaded region indicates A\cap B.

here, X = {a, b, c, d} and Y = {f, b, d, g}
So, X\cap Y ={a, b, c, d} \cap{f, b, d, g}
= {b, d}

Solution :

Given X = { a , b , c , d }

Y = { f , b , d , g }

X cap Y = { x: x € X and x € Y }

= { a , b , c , d } cap { f , b , d , g }

= { b , d }
