If x=a , y=b is the solution of the equations x-y=2 and x+y=4 then the value of a and b are respectively

the value of a is -4 and b value is also 4

a-b=2

a+b=4

add both equations

thus 2a=6

therefore a=3

substitute a in any equation

and b=1
