I understood the question like this

 x^{a} = y, y^{b} = z, z^{c} = x

Consider

[tex] x^{a} = y [/tex]
But
z^{c} = x

(z^{c})^a = y \Rightarrow z^{ca} = y

[But y^{b} = z

 \Rightarrow (y^{b})^{ca} = y \Rightarrow y^{abc} = y

Therefore, abc = 1
