x = 3 - 2√2

x^2 + 1/x^2 = ?

x = (3 - 2√2)

1/x = 1/3-2√2 (After rationalising the denominator)

1/x = 3+2√2

(x + 1/x)^2 = x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2
(3-2√2 + 3+2√2)^2 = x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2
36-2 = x^2 + 1/x^2
34 = x^2 + 1/x^2
