Step-by-step explanation:

During ‘inflation’ the universe

expanded at a rate faster than

the speed of light. How can this

be, if nothing can go faster than

light? The answer is that it is

space that is expanding without

any objects moving. In the Big

Bang model the distance

between galaxies increases, but

the galaxies don’t move. Since

nothing is moving, there is no

violation of the restriction that

nothing can move faster than

light.

x = (2 + √5)

x + 1/x

= 2 + √5 + 1/(2 + √5)

(2 + √5)² + 1/(2 + √5)

= 4 + 5 + 4√5 + 1 / (2 +√5)

= 10 + 4√5 / ( 2 + √5)

= 10 + 4√5(2 - 4√5) / 2² - √5²

= 20 -40√5 +8√5 - 90 / 4 - 5

= -70 - 32√5 / -1

= 70 + 32√5
