Solution:

_____________________________________________________________

Given:

x = - \frac{1}{2}

&

3x² + 2kx - 3 = 0,

_____________________________________________________________

To find:

value of k
_____________________________________________________________

we know that,

3x² + 2kx -3 =0 & x = - \frac{1}{2}

so,

=> 3(- \frac{1}{2} )² + 2k(- \frac{1}{2} ) - 3 = 0

=> 3( \frac{1}{4} ) -k -3 = 0

=>  \frac{3}{4} -k - 3 = 0

=> -k =  3-\frac{3}{4}

=>∴ k = -2 \frac{1}{4}

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

X=-1/2

3(-1/2)^2+2k(-1/2)-3=0

3/4-2k/2-3=0

3/4-k=3

-k=3-3/4

-k=3*4/4-3/4

-k=12-3/4

-k=9/4

K=-9/4
