so

X=

 \sqrt{2 } + 1

then 1/x=

1 \div  \sqrt{2}  + 1

then rationalizing the denominator

we get

 \sqrt{2}  - 1

then

X cube + 1/X cube=

( \sqrt{2}  + 1) ^{3}  + ( \sqrt{2} - 1) {}^{3}

 \sqrt{2} ^{3} + 1 ^{3}  +  \sqrt{2} {}^{3}  -  1 ^{3}

positive 1 and negetive 1 gets cancelled

then left is

 \sqrt{2} ^{3}  +  \sqrt{2} {}^{3}

(2 \sqrt{2}) {}^{3}
