We can write it as ...

x^2=(2+√3)

4+3+4√3

7+4√3

Now, 1/x = 1/2+√3

=) 1/2+√3 × 2-√3/2-√3

=) 2-√3/4-3

=) 2-√3

Now,

=). (1/x)^2 = (2-√3)^2.

=) 4+3-4√3

=) 7-4√3

Therefore,

=) x^2+(1/x)^2= 7+4√3 + 7-4√3 = 14 Ans.
