SOLUTION

GIVEN

x% of y is 100 and y% of z is 200

TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION

The relation between x and z

(1) z= x

(2) 2z = x

(3) z = 2x

(4) z = 3x

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

x% of y is 100

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{xy}{100}  = 100}

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: xy =1 00 \times 100} \:  \:  \:  -  -  -  - (1)

Again y% of z is 200

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{yz}{100} = 200 }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: yz =200 \times 100} \:  \:  \:  -  -  -  - (2)

Equation 1 ÷ Equation 2 gives

 \displaystyle \sf{  \frac{xy}{yz}  =  \frac{100 \times 100}{100 \times 200} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies\:   \frac{x}{z}  =  \frac{1}{2} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies\:  z = 2x}

FINAL ANSWER

Hence the required relation (3) z = 2x
