X²+1/x²=27
Now,
(X-1/X)²=x²-2(X)(1/X)+(1/X)²
(x-1/x)²=x²+1/x²-2
Since x²+1/x²=27
Therefore
(x-1/x)²=27-2
(x-1/x)²=25
x-1/x=√25
=5
