Hi there,

x+√5=4+√5

substract √5 from both sides, we get,

x=4

now x+√5 = 4+√y

4+√5 = 4+√y

√5 = √y

squaring on both sides, we get,

5=y

Ans: x+y= 4+5=9

hope it helps

Answer:

x+ underoot 5=4+underoot y

Now imagine y as underoot 5

Then subtract underoot 5 from both sides

Answer is x=4

Then put the value of x in equation with y as constant.

4+underoot5=4+underoot y

Cancel the four and answer comes

Underoot 5=underoot y

Underoot canceled

Y=5

X+Y=4+5=9

Hope you like my answer.
