Note: Your question is incorrect. it should be 2y in place of 27.

Given x:y = 5:2.

Now,

⇒ (8x + 9y)/(8x + 27)

Divide the numerator and denominator by 'y', we get

⇒ [8(x/y) + (9y/y)]/[8(x/y) + (2y/y)]

⇒ [8(5/2) + 9]/[8(5/2) + 2]

⇒ [29/22].

Hope this helps!
