Given:

X : Y = 5 : 3

We have to find the percentage of 3X in X(3X + 4Y).

Solution:

X : Y = 5 : 3

Here, X = 5, Y = 3

∴ 3X = 3(5) = 15 and

X(3X + 4Y) = 5(3 × 5 + 4 × 3)

= 5(27) = 135

∴ The required percentage of 3X in X(3X + 4Y)

= \dfrac{3X}{X(3X + 4Y)} × 100

= \dfrac{15}{135} × 100

= \dfrac{100}{9}

= 11\dfrac{1}{9} % or, 11.11 %

Thus, the required percentage of 3X in X(3X + 4Y) is " 11\dfrac{1}{9} % or, 11.11 %".
