x-y = 4
→ x= 4+y

therefore,
x + y = 6
→ 4+y+y =6 [x=4+y]
→ 2y= 6-4
→ y = 1
therefore x = 5
so, x²= 25
y²= 1
→ x²+ y² = 26
now xy = 5
