 \huge \red{\mathfrak{solution}}

Given:

x+y= 25

and

xy=154

To find x-y

 \rightarrow \: ( {x - y})^{2}  = ( {x + y)}^{2}  - 4xy \\  \\ x - y =  \sqrt{( {x + y})^{2}  - 4xy}

put the values :

 \rightarrow \: x - y =  \sqrt{ {25}^{2}  - 4(154)}  \\  \\  \rightarrow \: x - y =  \sqrt{625 - 616}  \\  \\  \rightarrow \: x - y =  \sqrt{9}  \\  \\  \rightarrow x - y = 3

Hence the value of x-y is

\huge{\text{\underline{Question:-}}}

lf X + Y is 25 and X into Y is 154 then what is the value of x minus y.

\huge{\text{\underline{Solution:-}}}

Given:-

  • x + y = 25
  • xy = 154

To find:-

  • Value of x - y

Explaination:-

\implies{(x - y)^2 = (x + y)^2 - 4 xy}

Using formula:-

\impliesx - y = \sqrt{(x + y)^2 - 4 xy}

\impliesx - y = \sqrt{(25)^2 - 4 (154)}

\impliesx - y = \sqrt{625 - 616}

\impliesx - y = √9

\implies\large{\boxed{\text{x - y = 3}}}

Therefore the value of x - y is 3
