if X + Y is equal to 18 and x minus Y is equal to 2 find the value of x and y

X - Y = 2 ..........(2)
Solve by elimination
X + Y = 18
X - Y = 2
2X = 20
X = 10 put in (1)
Y = 18 - 10 = 8
