if (x+y)=(y+x) than why (x-y)=(y-x) explain and justify the answer with example

if x= 2,,, y=1 then according to statement ( x+y) =( x - y) then 2+1 =1+2 because both have same sign but where as( x - y) is not equals to (y - x) because the signs changes 2-1 ( 1 has ' -' sign) , 1-2 ( here 2 has - sign) OK.. . I hope u understand it
