Given, X₁ = (100 ± 0.1) cm and X₂ = (90 ± 0.1) cm
You should understand one important thing . If we have to find error in case of subtraction of two numbers A = (a ± a₁) and B = (b ± b₁) where a₁ and b₁ are error in A and B respectively then, You should always add both the given errors .
e.g., error of (A - B) = ± (a₁ + b₁)

Hence, difference of X₁ and X₂, (X₁ - X₂) = 100 - 90 = 10 cm
error of (X₁ - X₂) = ±(0.01 + 0.01) cm = ± 0.02 cm

Hence ,(X₁ - X₂) = (10 ± 0.02) cm
