if xy= 6 and x2 + y2= 5 then the value of (x+y)2​

(x+y) ^2 = x^2 + y^2 + 2*x*y

= 5 + 2*6 (we know the value of

x^2 + y^2 and x*y)

= 5+12

= 17

Thus,

value of (x+y) ^2 is 17

(x+y)^2=x^2+y^2+2xy

substituting values

(x+y)^2=17
