SOLUTION

GIVEN

y = cotx

TO DETERMINE

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{dy}{dx} }

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

y = cotx

Differentiating both sides with respect to x we get

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{dy}{dx}  =  -  { \csc}^{2} x}

FINAL ANSWER

 \boxed{ \:  \:  \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{dy}{dx}  =  -  { \csc}^{2} x} \:  \: }

Note : csc means cosec
