In 1 hour, he swims 5 miles

In 1 minute, he swims 5/60=1/12 miles

Therefore, in 11 houre , he can swim = 1/12×11

= 11/12 miles.

In 5 hours, dug = 9 feet

In 1 minute, dug = 9/60 = 3/20 feet

Therefore, in 17 hours , dug = 3/20×17

= 17/20 feet

By working 5 hours, earnings = $32

By working 1 minute, earnings = $ 32/60

Therefore, by working 16 hours , earnings =

$ 32/60×16 = $ 8.533
