If you are at the beach, which direction can you expect the wind to come from in the afternoon? Explain.

Answer:
sea breeze describes a wind that blows from the ocean inland towards land. This breeze occurs most often in the spring and summer months because of the greater temperature differences between the ocean and nearby land, particularly in the afternoon when the land is at maximum heating from the sun.
During day when you are at beach, you will experience that the wing is blowing from the sea to land which is called as sea breeze.
During day land heats up very quickly than the water. And when the land gets heated the air on the land masses also gets heated up . This hot air is relatively less denser than the cool air at the sea. This less dense hot air goes up and expands which create a pressure drop on the landmass. To compensate this pressure loss, the cool air from the sea rushes on to the landmass which creates what we called as wind. This wind now, gets heated up by cooling the landmass and again the cycle will be continued till night until the sun sets.
