If you are going to buy a new laptop, consider which laptop gives the best specs or overall features.
In low-range laptops,
consider performance more than looks and quality.
In mid-range laptops,
choose what is best for your need. For example, if you are buying a laptop for your grandparents, they would probably need decent performance but greater quality. They would prefer a thin and light laptop with long battery life. If you are buying a laptop for yourself, it's always better to buy a laptop with the best performance and overall features until you don't prefer a thin and light laptop with long battery life. Gaming laptops gives the best performance compared to their 'office' counterparts. Suppose there is a gaming laptop with i5 10500h and an office laptop with the same processor, the gaming laptop would probably perform better than the office one because it's optimized to consume more power and deliver better performance. it would be better to buy a laptop that doesn't limit you from running any software.
In high range laptops,
quality is good in most cases and performance is usually preferred. In an expensive office laptop, you would get the best quality materials in that laptop. In an expensive gaming laptop, you would get the best performance with arguably good quality material. In the case of gaming laptops, it's sometimes better to sacrifice performance in order to gain other features. For example, two laptops at 69k give RTX 3050 with Ryzen 5 5600h. The difference is that one gives the best features of a gaming laptop at that price while the other lacks basic features like the most common IPS display, latest USB port, 3200MHz RAM (which is common with this processor) etc but gives an extra 15W GPU TGP. More GPU TGP would give a bit better performance but it's better to sacrifice this much performance for quality.
