See one thing when you running a program the temporary file are stored on RAM. No matter which type of RAM it is.
If you are running multiple programs at one time then, much more storage will be in use to run them properly.
If you have not enough RAM memory then, your system will hang at that time.
Here processor also takes place because, all the logical and calculations will be done by it.
How much your processor will be capable of doing the calculation kinda stuffs your system become more fast.
Nowadays, the mordern OSs are designed so well that, they save your minimized works to their secondary storage. It is slower than the RAM but, this is how mordern OSs handle the RAM overflow.

There are several reasons that include low space in hard drive, absence of memory upgrade, Running of a computer system without a reboot, corrupted hard drive, infected computer system, hardware conflicts and many more.
It is possible to fix these issues by getting the system booted at regular intervals.
Also, we need to include latest versions of antivirus.
