Our daughter is 6 months old and we are coming up to our first "holiday" season. Both of our parents live within 2 hours of us, and about 30 mins from each other. In the past, we have spent half the holiday with each side (e.g. Sleep at his parents Christmas Eve and stay until lunchtime and then spend the afternoon and Christmas dinner with my family). It requires a lot of running around on our side - and it was exhausting with just the two of us. Now that we have a daughter, I want to spend the holidays at our own home, with our little family. And to be frank, I don't really want the families coming to us either because of the frustration that will ensue.
How do we go about explaining this diplomatically?
