I will choose my mam

My siblings and I are all closer to my mom because growing up we spent more time with her. She would be the one who’d drop us off and pick us up at school. She’d be the one we’d go grocery shopping with. She’d be the one who’d go with us to pick up our school uniforms, buy us lunch, or buy us new shoes or clothes.

My mom was always the one we’d go to when we were sick. She was the one who mostly took us to the doctor or gave us medicine. She’s the one who took us to the dentist.

She’s the one who’s always cooked us food, washed our sheets… She’s done everything for us, and my dad was honestly just there..

We were all in the same house, but my dad was always doing his own thing like going to the gym, browsing through facebook, watching ESPN or news. Yeah, sometimes he would drop us off or pick us up. Sometimes he would take us to the doctor. BUT all of those times it was always so serious. It’s like he wasn’t acting like a dad. He was acting like a really bad nanny who hated his job. It’s like he knew he needed to take care of us, but that’s all he did. He’d just take us to the doctor.. He wouldn’t really talk to us, meaningfully.

So, my answer is my mom.. Plus, i’m sure that’s also what my dad would decide. If I could save him or her, he would tell me to choose her.

But what if I had a better shot at saving one of them over the other? What would I do? I honestly don’t know. I think I would still try to save my mom.

I love my mom so much, and if anything happened to her, I don’t know how i’d feel. My mom’s always been there for me, and she’s always taken care of me. She’s made so many sacrifices, and she’s always put me and my siblings before herself. She’s definitely the greatest mom ever.

You know, growing up, my mom was never the bad guy. And it’s not because my dad always took the heat and he’s the ‘bad cop’ of the parent situation. That’s not the truth at all. My mom’s just always been really good to us, and she rarely asked us for anything. At those times when she did, we just loved her enough to listen to her and to do what she says. If she asks something of us, we know it’s important because if it wasn’t she wouldn’t ask us…

All of this is the reason why I’d choose my mom.
