If 1/2 is subtracted from 'x' and multiplied with 1/2... the result is 1/8

(x - 1/2)* 1/2 = 1/8

(x - 1/2) = 1/8 * 2/1

(x - 1/2) = 1/4

x - 1/2 = 1/4

x = 1/4 + 1/2

x = 1/4 + 2/4

x = 3/4

The unknown number is 3/4
