Explanation:Since the Earth is round,one can travel either west or east to reach America(here I consider it to be North America-USA). If you start your journey from Delhi & fly westward in more or less straight line(forget the Great Circle route) then you have to travel over a large part of West Asia.Here you may have to fly over a small part of the northern Persian Gulf. From Egypt on wards till Morocco,you fly over North Africa.Then you have to negotiate the vast stretch of North Atlantic till you reach eastern shores of America.

Start your journey eastward (again from Delhi). You fly over the central & eastern Asia till you reach the eastern coast of China.You cross the coastline to fly over the East China sea-North Pacific Ocean till you reach the western shores of America.

New York and New Delhi, both are important cities in the world.

Journey between this cities can be of two types.Since earth is round so we can can start our journey by heading east or west direction.

If we travel by heading east;

The Oceans and continents which will be in between this cities are; Indian Ocean, Straits of Malacca, Java Sea, South China Sea, East China Sea & Pacific Ocean.

Similarly towards west;

Arabian Sea, there is Persian Gulf, Red Sea, straits of Hormuz, Mediterrainian Sea & Atlantic Ocean;are there.
