Our hand contains two types of nerves called Radial nerve and Ulnar nerve . Radial nerve is connected with Radial bone and Ulnar nerve is associated with Ulnar bone . The Ulnar nerve passes just below the skin of elbow and it is not covered by any tissue . Hence any sudden blow to the elbow directly strikes ulnar nerve and that results in shock like feeling .

When we get hurt on the elbow we get a shock like feeling because the ulnar nerve runs from your shoulder to the elbow and it is not covered with hard tissue . That is the reason we get a shock like feeling when hurt on elbow
