I know i can’t be the Prime Minister of India. But being a responsible citizen, i would like to convey my thoughts to current Prime Minister of India:
importance to Decentralization : Decentralization means devolution of power to local government. In India, 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Act, envisages the creation of local government all over the country. But no role or functions is given to them. They have only been made merely agent of Central or State government. Give them power as per the Schedule 11 of the Constitution of India. The gram sabha should be made powerful organ of government.
Need based Education : The syllabus for the education needs to be revised and should be based on societal and industrial needs. As theoretical system of imparting education leads to nothing but only so called unemployment. Here i would like to suggest, merging of all State boards with Central Board and should create a provision local regional subject as a compulsory one in all respective States. Hence, everyone will follow irrespective of caste and gender will follow same education. No midday meal school or Delhi Public school. Only the more allocation of budget in this sector won’t help. It needs systematic rejuvenation (at least this really needs a deliberations).Easy accessible and affordable healthcare services : The news of dead body carried by family members often grab the headlines of Indian media. The new guidelines by Medical Council of India of prescribing generic medicine and using capital letter for prescription is a welcome step. But stringent law to enforce such action will hold only accountable . Agriculture Marketing: Agriculture supports more than 75 per cent population of India directly as well as indirectly; Production of agriculture is insufficient for economic development unless it is supported by suitable marketing. Agricultural marketing covers the services involved in moving an agricultural produce from the farm to the consumer. Numerous interconnected activities are involved in this process , such as planning production, growing and harvesting, grading, packing, transport, storage, agro- and food processing, distribution, advertising and sale. The total no. of cold storage in India is 5831. It is the need of the hour to increase the no. of cold storage to mitigate the food grain loss. 96 % of the cold storage are in Pvt. Sector; more than 75 per cent of the capacity is utilized only for potato and only about 23 percent are under multi commodity category (Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India). It is necessary on the part of government to increase the no of multi commodity cold storage.Small Scale industry : There has been a tremendous development in Secondary sector in our country, particularly in the industrial sector due to liberalization and globalization of our economy. When government of India is busy in promoting Make in India but no concrete step has been made for the upliftment of indigenous industry. Only promoting Patanjali products won’t help the indigenous industries. Exempt these industries from payment of taxes, duties and other dues. This will also address the unemployment issues. Vocational training institute should work cohesively with the indigenous industry.
