CLASSIFICATION OF INSTRUMENTS

• Chordophone:- Strings that are vibrating are used to create sound in a family of instruments called chordophones. The word is a translation of the Greek word "chord," which means string. This family is referred to as the strings in Western classical music. Erich von Hornbostel and Curt Sachs, two musicologists, discovered that the phrase "string family" was too limited at the beginning of the 20th century.
