Pretty simple,

Let the root be x, The roots are equal Which by means another root is also x,

Generally product of roots = c/a in a quadratic equation,

But if two roots are same , then products of roots is x²,

x² is always positive, as square of any integer is +ve,

Now we can say that, x² = c/a,

=> c/a is also always positive, by this we can say that If two roots are same, Then c and a have same signs,

Hope you understand What I said,

Have a great day !!
