(i) let smaller angle be x

therefore other angle is x+40

here we have x+(x+40) =110°

therefore 2x +40 = 110

therefore 2x = 110 - 40 = 70

therefore x = 70÷2 = 35

hence the angles are 35 and 75

(ii) let smaller angle be x

therefore we have x+5x =150

therefore 6x = 150

therefore x = 150 ÷6 = 25

hence the angles are 25 and 125
