Because snow which is present outside the igloos works as very good insulator and snow is a bad conductor. so it traps air and makes the inside of the igloo warm

Also, the dome shape offers little resistance to the wind. Inside an igloo, the temperature is usually around 32 degrees Celsius, rarely getting much colder with people inside.
