☞Rs.(25000−24000)=Rs.1000

(a) If the company sells 3500 bags of white cement and 5000 bags of grey cement in a month, find the profit or loss of white cement.

Solution :-

It is given that the company gains 12 per bag of white cement sold.

So, On selling 3500 bags, The company would gain:

⇒ Gain = 3500×12

⇒ Gain = 42000

Hence, The company would gain 42000 on selling 3500 white cement bags.

Similarly, The company losses 8 per grey cement sold. On selling 5000 grey cement bags, The company would loose:

⇒ Loss = 5000×8

⇒ Loss = 40000

Not that we have got the gain and loss of the company, Let us calculate the profit or loss.

First, Let us mark the loss as negative because the company losses and gain as positive.

∴ Profit = Loss - Gain

⇒ Profit = -40000 + 42000

⇒ Profit = 2000

Here, The positive sign indicates that the company has overall gained 2000 on selling 3500 white cement bags and 5000 grey cement bags.

∴ Therefore, The gain is 2000.
