on the ticket is either divisible by 3 or a perfect square.

Divisible by 3 :

{3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36} = 12

Perfect square:

{1,4,9,16,25,36} = 6

Probability = No. of favourable outcomes

                          Total no. of outcomes

                 = 12 + 6

                   ----------

                      36

                = 18 /36  = 1 / 2

Hence, the probability is 1/2.
