=> To define the following :-

  • Force :- Push or pull of an object is considered a force. Push and pull come from the objects interacting with one another.

  1. In SI base units: kg·m/s2.
  2. F = m a

  • Contact forces :- Contact force is a force that is applied by objects in contact with each other. Contact force acts on a point of direct contact between the two objects. This force can either be continuous as a continuous force or can be momentary in the form of an impulse.

It is of three types :-

  1. Frictional Force
  2. Applied Force
  3. Normal Force

______________________________

  • Non-contact forces :- A non-contact force is a force applied on an object by another body without being in direct contact with the object.

Examples:-

  1. Gravitational force
  2. Gravitational forceElectromagnetic force
  3. Gravitational forceElectromagnetic forceStrong Nuclear force
  4. Gravitational forceElectromagnetic forceStrong Nuclear forceWeak Nuclear force

  • Fluid friction :- Fluid friction is the resistance to an object's motion through a liquid or gas. When the motion is occurring in a liquid, it is referred to as viscous resistance.

As an example, when an object falls through water, its speed reduces due to fluid friction acting on it.
