Distance between foot of ladder and wall of tank = 5 m

Height of tank to ground = 12 m

✇ Let length of ladder be x m

★ Now, Using Pythagoras Theorem,

⋆ H² = B² + P²

Here we have,

Base, B = 5 m

Perpendicular, P = 12 m

Putting values,

➯ x² = 5² + 12²

➯ x² = 25 + 144

➯ x² = 169

➯ x = √169

➯ x = 13 m

∴ Hence, The length of ladder is 13 m.
