Answer:

Length is 21

Explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle is 56cm. If its length is 3 times its width, what are the dimensions of the rectangle?

As we know that rectangle has 4 sides.

Let side be x.

Therefore,

side+side+side+side=perimeter

(sum of all sides= perimeter)

Now, we are going to put the value as they are given.

x+x+x+x=56 cm

(As we know that in rectangle there are total 4 sides where 2 sides of length and 2 sides of width)

x+x+3x+3x=56 cm

8x=56 cm

Now, lets divide both sides by 8.

Hence, the value of x is 7.

X=7 now lets prove X is 8

7+7+3(7)+3(7)=56 cm

7+7+21+21=56

14+42=56

56=56 : 2 sides are 7 cm and 2 sides are 21 cm.
