III. Give reason:

5. Transportation of substances in a living organism.

Ans: Substances like food, oxygen etc needs to be transported around the body as all organs require certain substances to do a certain task like muscles require food and oxygen to use energy and not only muscles require these but all organs, tissues, cells etc require food and oxygen.

6. The heart gives away impure blood through an artery.

Ans: The impure blood containing CO2 is supplied to lungs by heart for purification (oxygenation) through pulmonary artery.

7. The color of blood is red.

Ans: Haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is a protein that forms a complex along with iron molecules and carries oxygen molecules across the body. Iron can reflect red light, and blood looks red because our blood contains so much iron. Thus, haemoglobin makes the blood look red.

8. We feel cool in summers while sweating.

Ans: That's because cooling your body via sweating relies on a principle of physics called "heat of vaporization." It takes energy to evaporate sweat off of your skin, and that energy is heat. As your excess body heat is used to convert beads of sweat into vapor, you start to cool down.

9. If plant do not get enough water, they droop and wilt

Ans: The water keeps plants fresh and turgid. When a plant does not get enough water, it wilts and droops due to loss of turgidity by decrease in the amount of water in plant cells/parts .
