The Jury System was the first to go as it was found to be highly biased, when it came to the case of British or foreign subjects. It was abolished in 1958 by The Indian Law Commission.

It was abolished in 1958 by The Indian Law. The East India Company started Mayor's court in centres like Calcutta, Madras and Bombay during the year 1926. Lord Cornwallis established Circuit courts in major cities which took care of civil as well as criminal cases. All the judges were Europeans.
