Steps to follow addition of two digit numbers

1) At the top write T for tens and O for ones .

2) Write the number below it according to their places.

3) Put the plus sign (+ ).

4) Draw a line below the numbers.

5) First add the ones digit and then the tens digit.

Example 1: Add 34 + 5

Here 34 is a two digit number so write the numbers 3 and 4 according to their place values. So 3 is below tens (T) place and 4 is below ones place (O).

The second number is 5, which is one digit number so put it below 4.
